Last month, Facebook launched a new online functionality that allows its users – across 17 European countries – to buy and sell articles.
This app from the world’s largest social network – only available on Facebook’s mobile app – was already available in the UK and US (and other countries) and can now be accessed in Portugal and other places in Europe (Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland).
Facebook Marketplace lets users of the social network buy and sell articles between themselves, with photos and info on the proximity and relationship of sellers, alongside powerful research and filtering tools based on an article’s location, type and price.
In its first month after launch in the US, in May of this year, over 18 million articles were placed for sale on Facebook Marketplace.
