In 2018, after two editions in Lisbon, the Web Summit and the Portuguese Government announced a 10-year partnership, ensuring the conference will remain in the Portuguese capital until 2028.
The company behind what’s considered by some to be the largest technology conference in the world has officially opened 16 new positions in Lisbon, for specialists in some areas. Web Summit’s office in Lisbon currently employs ten people from six nationalities, but the organisation hopes to double that number this year, as soon as the new hirings are signed.
At the time of the partnership with the Portuguese Government disclosure, Paddy Cosgrave, the event’s founder and CEO, also revealed plans to expand their presence in Lisbon, for a total of 100 employees.
In 2019, the Web Summit hopes to surpass the 70 000 participants from over 170 countries.
This is a great opportunity to invest in Portugal and display your brand and business, in an event that will certainly define this decade.
